SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-gb:Building Citizenship through Openness [1157] (Withdrawn)
DESCRIPTION:Room: Pentland (East)\nTrack: Converging or diverging cultures of openness\nDemocracies are at serious risk. After a profound civic disengagement process over the past decades\, democracy is faced today with a broad social disapproval that questions the legitimacy of democracy as the principle of social agreement. As democracies struggle to renovate or create news ways to close the gap between political institutions and citizenship\, agendas related to transparency are shy of the expected results. In this context\, Openness emerges as a strategic trend that can create and develop deeper relations between citizens and polititians and political institutions. This presentation is an attempt to break the "Open Silos" looking for convergence of open practices\, mainly from the academic field (Open Access\, Open Data\, Open Educational Resources\, Open Research) that can foster new ways of citizenship and civic relation.\nhttp://oer16.oerconf.org/sessions/building-citizenship-through-openness-1157/
